Bookly (“Bookly”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a digital marketplace platform that connects students seeking hostel accommodation with hostel owners and operators in Ghana. Bookly operates as a technology facilitator only — it is not a landlord, property manager, tenancy agent, or party to any rental agreement between a Student and a Hostel Owner.
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between:
By creating an account, listing a property, or completing a booking on the Bookly platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
To use Bookly, you must:
Bookly is a technology platform only. We do not own, control, manage, or guarantee any hostel property listed on our platform.
Each user may hold only one account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and all activity that occurs under your account. Notify Bookly immediately at support@booklyapp.co if you suspect any unauthorised access.
By submitting a listing on Bookly, the Hostel Owner warrants that all photographs, descriptions, amenities, and pricing accurately represent the property. The property must comply with applicable Ghanaian health, safety, and building standards.
If a student raises a complaint that a listing is materially false, Bookly will investigate, notify the owner, and may suspend or permanently remove the listing and/or account.
Bookly charges a commission to Hostel Owners on each successful booking. Students are not charged a platform fee.
Payments are processed by Paystack. Transaction fees (approximately 1.95% + GH₵0.50 per transaction) apply and are included in the payment amount.
The student is entitled to a refund of the deposit paid, minus the Paystack transaction fee. The Hostel Owner must process the refund within 7 business days. Failure to comply will result in account suspension.
No refund is available once a student has physically taken possession of the accommodation.
If a Hostel Owner cancels a confirmed booking, they must refund the full deposit within 5 business days. Failure to do so results in immediate account suspension and permanent removal.

Submit a refund request through the Bookly app or email support@booklyapp.co with subject: “Refund Request — [Your Full Name] — [Booking ID]”. Include your full name, booking ID, amount paid, and reason for cancellation.
Students must not provide false details, initiate chargebacks without first contacting Bookly, or make payments outside the platform. Hostel Owners must not post false listings, collect deposits outside the app, or double-book rooms.
Submit disputes to support@booklyapp.co with subject: “Dispute — [Booking ID] — [Your Name]”. Bookly will acknowledge within 48 hours and issue a determination within 7 business days. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
Bookly’s total liability shall not exceed the platform commission received in connection with the specific booking giving rise to the claim. Bookly is not liable for a Hostel Owner’s failure to refund, changes to listing conditions after inspection, or payments made outside the platform.

Bookly is the operator of the Bookly student hostel booking platform and the data controller for all personal data processed through the platform. Contact: support@booklyapp.co.
Bookly does not collect credit or debit card numbers, National ID numbers, or GPS location data.
We share relevant booking data with the Hostel Owner to facilitate accommodation. We use Paystack for payments, Supabase for database and authentication, and Firebase for push notifications. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account. Booking and transaction records are retained for a minimum of 5 years for legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting support@booklyapp.co.
All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Database access is protected by row-level security. Authentication is handled by Supabase with industry-standard token management.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Contact support@booklyapp.co with subject: “Data Request — [Your Full Name] — [Registered Email]”. We respond within 30 days.
